The radio is able to charge rapidly, in just 2.5 hours, perfect for users who can't be without a radio for long. 

The IC-M93D is protected against the elements, not only with the IPX7 protection rating, but by the flash and float function. Even if the unit is turned off, if it is dropped overboard it will active an LED light so the radio can be found easily. Similarly, the radio has a man overboard feature, which will sound an alarm in case of emergency.
